We are delighted to announce that Book Your Block- the leading event lodging company in Long Island- is appointing Rae Marie Ciavarelli as a full-time Group Sales Manager. With 6 years of experience in hotel sales and operations within the Long Island market, Rae Marie is a true hospitality professional, with a deep love of travel and a passion for creating experiences.
Graduating with a B.S. in Hotel Restaurant and Tourism Management
from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rae Marie embarked on her career journey in 2018, returning to Long Island. She commenced her tenure at the Holiday Inn Express East End & Hotel Indigo East End, where her dedication to exceptional guest experiences propelled her through various roles spanning operations and sales. From her beginnings at the Front Desk to her pivotal positions as Night Audit, Corporate Sales Coordinator, and Front Office Manager, Rae Marie's commitment to learning and growth was evident.
Her stellar performance and unwavering dedication led to her well-deserved promotion to Director of Sales, a testament to her exceptional talents recognized by the Long Island Business News 30 under 30 in 2022. This prestigious acknowledgment solidified Rae Marie's status as a rising star in the hospitality industry.
In 2022, Rae Marie embarked on a new chapter, joining the esteemed Hyatt Regency Long Island as Group Sales Manager. Focused on the SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal) market, she has demonstrated her versatility and acumen in catering to diverse clientele. Specializing in sports accommodations, Rae Marie has further honed her skills, solidifying her reputation as an expert in event lodging.
Ciavarelli said “Since 2021 I have been working with Book Your Block from a hotel sales view. As a native to Long Island I am excited to find a company that was just as passionate about selling the Long Island Market as I was. I am looking forward to bringing my hotel background and hospitality experience to Book Your Block to continue helping our groups create memorable experiences.”
As part of Book Your Block's expansion strategy, Rae Marie will initially oversee the Long Island market before transitioning to also manage South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Her immediate responsibilities include nurturing client relationships, expanding the company's presence within the Long Island hotel community, and connecting with new event operators to showcase Book Your Block's innovative technology and comprehensive services.
